As a young girl growing up, DIY's were a form of expression. I especially enjoyed cutting, snipping, and dying clothes to repurpose them into my own style. For me, there's truly no better feeling than walking through the streets and having someone ask me where I purchased my outfit. With a prideful smile, I always confidently reply, "Thanks, I made it myself." Saying those words has always put me on cloud 9.
It has always been a passion of mine to transform something basic into a unique one-of-a-kind statement piece. Wearing what everyone else had in their closets was never on my agenda. In fact, if a piece of clothing wasn't completely different or helped me take my outfit to the next level, I didn't want anything to do with it.
Going through my closet, I would look at a basic garment and reimagine its potential. It was an automatic visual response that I couldn't ignore. From bleaching and distressing denim to making custom high-waisted jeans, I was obsessed with designing and creating. I later expanded my expertise to other forms of clothing such as jackets and windbreakers. Fashion inspired me each day, and I couldn't stop myself from repurposing and elevating basic clothing.
Not only did this hobby give me an outlet for my talents, but it also allowed me to look good while I was doing it! When the day came for me to put my passion on pause so I could focus on my health, I was devastated. During this time, I had to keep my inspiration bottled up, and my heart ached to create once again. Silently, I promised myself that I would pursue my dreams once again.
B. Nicole Brand is more than just a clothing line. It has been created with love to demonstrate my fascination with fashion. While they shop, my goal is to allow my customers to feel what I experience during the creative process. It is my vision to bring B.
